Editorial Guidelines
How Eonebill sources, reviews, dates, compares, and corrects tax, product, and competitor information.
Last policy review: September 17, 2026
Official sources first
Government material for tax claims and vendor-owned pages for competitor facts.
Dates with context
Tax years and checked dates identify which time-sensitive facts were reviewed.
No invented credentials
No CPA or Enrolled Agent review is implied unless a named credentialed reviewer appears.
Current process
What Eonebill does today
These standards describe the checks supported by the current publishing and product code. They do not turn educational content into tax, legal, or financial advice.
Sources
Primary sources come first
Tax rules are checked against government material, competitor facts against the vendor’s own pages, and Eonebill product claims against the current implementation.
- Federal tax guidance starts with IRS forms, instructions, publications, and IRS.gov.
- State-specific claims should point to the relevant state tax or revenue authority.
- Competitor pricing and capabilities use official vendor pricing, product, or help pages rather than affiliate summaries.
- AI output, search snippets, and third-party summaries are discovery aids, not final evidence.
Tax content
Rates, formulas, and filing guidance get a specific review
Maintained tax tools identify the applicable tax year, keep calculation inputs in code, and separate planning estimates from filing advice.
- Year-specific rates and thresholds are reviewed together with the calculation code they affect.
- Tax calculators and form tools use a shared “Not Tax Advice” notice and direct readers to official guidance.
- Rate-specific pages add a direct source where the page presents a fixed official rate.
- Eonebill does not claim CPA or Enrolled Agent review unless a named reviewer and current credential are shown on that page.
Freshness
Dates describe what was checked, not a blanket guarantee
Time-sensitive pages state a tax year or verification date so readers can judge whether the information still fits their decision.
- A tax year accompanies maintained year-specific calculator inputs and explanatory copy.
- A “checked” or “reviewed” date means the cited facts were rechecked on that date.
- Material updates change the relevant date; cosmetic edits do not reset it.
- Readers should verify filing deadlines and rates again at the official source before acting.
Comparisons
Competitor strengths stay in the comparison
A useful comparison identifies where another product is stronger, preserves source links, and records when volatile facts were checked.
- Pricing, limits, platforms, and feature availability are checked against official vendor pages.
- Dedicated comparison routes must publish a competitor-data verification date.
- Promotions and plan details are treated as changeable, not permanent facts.
- Eonebill claims use product configuration, source code, or runtime evidence rather than competitor marketing.
Corrections
Specific, source-backed corrections are welcome
Readers can report an outdated rate, unsupported statement, broken source, or calculation issue through the contact page.
- Include the affected URL, the statement or result in question, and a primary source when available.
- The report is checked against the source and the current product or calculation implementation.
- Confirmed material errors are corrected in the page or calculation and the relevant review date is updated.
- Eonebill does not promise a public response deadline or silently label unverified content as professionally reviewed.
Scope boundary
Educational content is not professional advice
Eonebill provides planning tools and general information. Tax laws and product plans change, and individual facts matter. Verify official instructions and consult a qualified professional before filing, claiming a deduction, or making a legal or financial decision.
